Rock/Hip hop hybrids with live instruments can always add crazy power to a beat, so I was sourly disappointed when I heard the beat to "Death Speaks." The deep bass strings were dope but the high-pitched string melody killed it for me. The beat was riddled with needless instruments and filler noises. I feel like even the artists knew deep down that the beat wasn't worth the lyrics. The song has potential and I liked the hook-- it was catchy and it kept the creepy undertone going with the song.

I feel like using the same female artist from the previous song once again on the hook for "Bandieras" was not conducive to the theme of the song, being that of individuality. The melody she used on the hook is played out. The beat is nice & mellow and im diggin the horns. I feel like a song that's "reppin" should have alot more energy. The Trini. cat on the 3rd verse was the only one that brought the energy needed.

I listened to the songs several times on their page
[ http://www.myspace.com/jerseyadvocates ] and I think those two previous songs were among their weakest. Maybe they should've showed off more songs like "Injustice".

Frankly, I feel that they need to find a different approach to Hip Hop. These dudes may have potential but should surround themselves with experienced cats and more intense beats. Like they said, you have to find a different way of doing the same thing and that's not being done in this case.

I'm not hating, I'm just being real on my perspective.

Keep grinding, fellas.

My thoughts on New Jersey Advocates:

Nice lyrical transition between MC's: chorus lines/hooks were used creatively: linking verses together fluently: raw and gritty: a lot of people can relate to the struggle and message of songs

Good lyrical detail as it relates to each MC: each MC gave something fresh and new to each song: each MC had an unique style: underground hip-hop at its best

I look forward to hearing more from NJ Advocates as they continue to perfect and mold their craft!

Thank you guys for allowing me to voice my opinion! Great show tonight!
