Syn also covered 3 verses on "Self destruction", a verse on "Protect ya Neck" by Wu tang and " My name is" by Eminem. Syn had his work cut out for him but held his own. The "Tales Of Men" video was filmed, directed and edited by Akua Naru ThorTakeOver's first female artist and first artist in general.
The video was filmed in China, Germany, America and Africa. This video is not only a " video " it is more of her journey, a right of passage for her into a higher enlightenment. Most cats say that and don't really understand the actual concept of that statement. Akua Naru's video Tale Of Men is very insightful and powerful.

Our for father brought us the gift of unity through what we call hip hop so we need to continue their work and unify the world of hip hop.

godHead The General has just been reunited with long time friends Morbius and Outcome The Sargonites. In 1993 the group Maniacal Hand was formed and it consisted of The Sargonites, Godhead The General and The Unforgiven Juggernaught. For reasons common to urban youth the group split, godHead The General and The Juggernaught was more drawn to the streets than music while The Sargonites decided to leave the street behind and kept it moving. Fast foward some and the year is 1997 and The General is doing a 4 year stretch in PA and The Juggernaught embrassed his current situation and status in the street and walked away from music. That same year and years to come The Sargonites pushed foward alone and were performing and recording music. Because of family difficulties the movment was put on stand by till they were able to put in 100% into their music.
Now is the year 2009 godHead The General and The Sargonites reunited and have been building on re-releasing The Sargonites timeless album " The Sons of the Sun ". You can catch their new video for the song "Children of da Matrix" at THOR TV. Also pick up for free download The Sargonites' album " Sons of the Sun " at

First we want to appologize for not letting the public know about The Philly Hip Hop Awards, we did not win. It's ok we are in this for the love of the music and unit sales, even though it would have felt good to be reconized for all your efforts. Well thats how the cookies crumble....at least we found out how it feels to be apart of an award show. The winners were Trap Street and B. Mack, Trap Street won best lable and B. Mack mover and shaker. Thank you to everyone who voted and wanted us to win.

The Rebels were out and about on the road to Dansbury, CT to perform at Enter The Cipher at Cousin Larry's Cafe.
Against all odds Coalition members braved the recent rain storm to represent out in CT with the Ant Farm Affiliates.
The squad members that went out to build with our CT comrades were Soundbwoi Killaz, The KNomadz and Magnum O.
Each artist repped their love for the music and the culture showing and proving that the industry style of hip hop is not hip hop.
The Rebel Coalition is down to ride out to expose the world to the independent hip hop scene so they can be better informed about the craft of emceeing. We take this serious! There was a time when the music industry did not consider R.A.P. music at all. And now they glorify the fact that hip hop music can bridge gaps between music genres but they only broadcast those who are apart of their big industry agenda.
So if your looking to be entertained by hip hop artists who pour their heart out while displaying their craft The Rebel Coalition is what your looking for.

Mekz One aka The Black Mage and Ic Flair photo by DTG
|
The crowd at Friday Night Mic Check embraced a long overdue Grease Monkeys performance as they surpised and rocked the open mic segment and performed like they never skipped a beat, while coming back stronger. Mekz One aka The Black Mage and Ic Flair formerly Icarus of the Grease Monkeys can be credited as one of the groups in THOR Takeover who helped build THOR Takeover's name to what it is today along with godHead The General, Divine Wise. In 2008, the group took a hiatus yet they continued to work on seperate projects. While Mekz prepares for his next release as well as godHead The General's album "Operation Weapon X" (produced by Mekz One), he and Ic are currently in talks about working on a project together. We can confirm that Ic will make appearances on the upcoming Rebel Coalition album produced entirely by Mekz One. Could this be the return of the Grease Monkeys??

Friday July 19, 2009 Magnum O will return to Enter The Cypher in Danbury, CT for their 3rd feature performance since 2008 when they first rocked the event on the Rebel Coalition tour with KNomadz and Ahdchild. Magnum O recently rocked the event again when they were booked on the 2nd Rebel Coalition tour with godHead The General and Syn The Villain this past March. They are rocking for the 3rd time, accompanied by new rebel coalition members The Soundbwoi Killaz who will be making their first appearance at Enter The Cypher. They're amped to go up and rep in CT for Soundbwoi Records and Rebel Coalition. Soundbwoi Killaz are sure to gain new fans as this sick (legendary) DJ and MC duo showcase their amazing performance that commands crowd attention with a set that brings the feel of an "old school" hip hop show. Enter The Cypher is definitely in for a night with the lyrical artistry of West Philly! The event is hosted by The D'Cyphernauts of Antfarm Affiliates (D'Cyphernauts, Phenetiks, Workforce, and more) who have built a networking/business relationship with THOR Takeover Records since 2007 as both camps support each other by booking each other's artist to showcase hip hop in their respective cities, while referring THOR Takeover and AntFarm Affiliates shows to other artists. You can look for more Antfarm Affiliate artists coming through THOR Takeover stages in 2009 and vice versa.

While Rebel Coalition was building and touring in 2007, their newest counterparts the Soundbwoi Killaz were moving at the same time. DJ Slice of our newest Rebel Coalition members Soundbwoi Killaz was nominated for a grammy for production on Brooklyn, NY rapper NYOIL's song "Ya'll Should All Get Lynched" in 2007. The collab came about when DJ Slice hit up NYOIL on myspace regarding a rough cut of the song. DJ Slice was so moved by the lyrical content and message that he wanted to add his touch, producing a remix of the rough cut. NYOIL and his wife drove down from NY to Delaware and record the project in Slice's studio. The song was mixed with NYOIL's new vocals while DJ Slice produced a new beat behind it. The new version was pushed and the rest is history on record as a grammy nominated song in two categories, "Song of the year" and "Best Rap Solo" Though this news is technically two years old, it was news worthy to put out such an accomplishment on one of our legendary DJs also world reknowned in production and engineering.

Most people are used to hearing heavy hitting sampled beats and artists with a harder edge coming out of THORTakeover, but we also have an Ahd Child {pronounced odd). Knowing he was "different" from the pack Ahd Child, who classifies himself as atypical hip hop producing sample free original music, decided to launch his own music on his newly created website nothingexpected.com.
In 2009, every song Ahd Child creates will be released for free download. The songs will span a wide variety of styles and genres.
NothingExpected.com is a break from the traditional album model of delivery and will provide listeners with a more direct and immediate link to Ahd Child. What is created and released will depend on the whims of an artist, so the only sure thing is that you will not hear what you expected. Subscribe to the podcast to get the songs as they are released.
"The lack of boundaries that an album can impose has given me the freedom to work in a variety of genres and styles depending on my mood of the moment." Ahd Child

Friday 3/20/09 Rebel Coalition members godHead The General, Magnum O, and Syn The Villain took a roadtrip up to Danbury, CT and rocked their tour date at Enter The Cypher, returning for a second feature in the last year (Syn's 3rd feature at Enter The Cypher). It was a back-to-back tour date for godHead The General who rocked the infamous Nuyorican Poets Cafe as a feature on Saturday 3/21/09 to a packed house filled from the front, back to the door and on the 2nd level balcony. The general captivated the crowd with his memorable performance especially when he took a seat to perform the first verse to "Doorway" storyteller style before he stood up and the performance became more intense. godHead got into host mode, engaging the crowd in THOR's "call and response" thunder call. godHead had the crowd and host screaming "AAAOOHH AAAOOHH AAAOOOHH" (the response to THOR's thunder call ""MC's What's Your Occupation?!!"), meaning if you're an MC and you take it serious and put in your work, then it's your occupation). Guerrilla Republik was definitely G'REPPIN in the building showing support!
